Today is St George’s day, celebrating the patron saint of England, and the country as a whole :D. Across the many counties celebrations are taking place, so I want to share with you my favourite posts from around England, and I hope it helps you get into the spirit of St Georges day…
The North East (Home of the Angel of the North, the Tyne Bridge and the UNESCO Durham Cathedral)
The North West (Home of Manchester, The Beatles, Furness Peninsula, Carlisle Castle, Southport, and the Lake District)
Yorkshire (Home of York Minster, The Deep Aquarium, Knaresborough Castle, and many Cathedrals)
East Midlands (Home to smallest county Rutland, Oakham Castle and Robin Hood)
West Midlands (Home of The Black Country, Coventry Cathedral, Hereford Cathedral and the Potteries)
The South (Home to the former capital of England, ancient Cathedrals, Stonehenge, Oxford University, Windsor Castle and the Olympic Sailing Venue)
England is a vibrant and beautiful country, with fantastic countryside, amazing views and some of the most impressive cities on earth, through architecture, locations and spirit. I am proud to call it my home country, as although I am British, I am also English!
Happy exploring! Cities are marked in Italics.
